I created this series, Origin of Thought, comprising 18 tiles on canvas, mounted on oak blocks. The concept behind this series was to “visually capture” the moment just before a thought, verbalization or action. I see that moment as both structured and explosive, as there is an obvious freedom and genesis of a moment, yet at the same time there I believe that a certain “form” must be obtained before the new idea can take form.

This poster series for a performance was set to visually invoke the “language of music”. With the use of typographic elements, angular gridlines and vibrant color, these posters become a sound of their own.

Some projects are ideas, explorations and concepts that move me as much for the process as the outcome. There is something about the act of creation when the forging fire is something that is so large in concept, and so far from my personal experience, yet surrounds me in culture, that I feel I need to dive in somehow. This exploration of violence became an image sequence that embraced the adult as well as the child in me. The enactment of such terrifying situations, that occur all over the world every day with the use of “toys” became a compelling and equally terrifying realization for me.

Sculpture – University of Lyon, France

This sculptural piece was a commission by Dr.Vincent Daubin and Dr.Sylvain Charlat, Université de Lyon, CNRS (Lyon, France), in collaboration with Samuel Laganier, Industrial Designer, (Paris, France), in the production of a 3D sculptural work permanently installed in the Gregoire Mendel building of the University of Lyon. The sculptural piece was in part of the 200 Years of Darwin celebration, and a key piece in the exposition “Evolution… Révolution !” and is a creative rendition of the Tree of Life (L’Arbre de Vie).

The commission involved creating 110 illustrations, CAD compatible, then laser etched upon stainless steel plates, assembled into a 3D, 1.5m tall geosphere installation.
